Kat Singer, MSW, RSW, (they/them) is a Registered Social Worker in private practice who specializes in ADHD, Autism, SOGIE issues, and artist health; and provides neurodiversity-affirming counselling to clients all over Ontario. Kat is also a multimedia artist, and identifies as a white, queer and neurodivergent settler, grateful to be living and working in Toronto, the unceded land of the Anishinaabe, the Haudonashonne, the Huron- Wendat, and the Mississaugas of the New Credit.

This 90-minute interactive presentation (60 minute lecture + 30 minute Q&A) will introduce and expand on the definition of neurodiversity (the infinite variation in neurocognitive functioning within our species), highlight the connection between neurodivergence and sexual & gender minority identities, and endorse a non-pathologizing approach to various neurological conditions. We will discuss common experiences of neurodivergent adults in healthcare settings, and explore how practitioner engagement with neurodiversity culture can benefit clients. 

Kat will also share specific neurodiversity-affirming tools and interventions from their private practice.
